The Division for IT Development is responsible for constructing technologies and for developing systems, as well as for the centralized methods of usage and storage of information. Management of information includes the absorption of material, its analysis and its retrieval. The role of the division is to instruct employees of the ISA in all that concerns work processes and the use of information, to assimilate standards and guidelines regarding the management of information; and to ensure that the information systems developed in the division accord with these guidelines and instructions.

The Division for IT Development invests extensive resources in research and development in order to implement the technological advances that improve processing, analysis, and presentation of information according to need. In this field, many fruitful joint projects are carried out with the best researchers and research institutes in Israel.
