In 2001-2006 a stable level of stabbing attacks was maintained, with an average of 19 attacks a year.
 
In 2007 the number declined to 7 a year, a drop of 37 percent. In 2008 the number rose to 12 attacks, and in 2009 there were 10 stabbing attacks.
