The peak year in this pattern is 2004 with 424 attacks a year. Since 2005 the number declined to 103 attacks in 2005 (the disengagement year), 143 attacks in 2006, and a further decline: 58 attacks in 2007, 52 in 2008 and only 12 in 2009.

Six Israelis were killed in AT attacks, all security personnel: one in 2002 in the Judea area and five in 2004 in the Gaza Strip.
