The number of attacks originating in the Gaza Strip and Sinai stayed similar: 24 attacks (23 from the Gaza Strip and one from Sinai), compared to 23 in August (of which two were from Sinai).
This month's terror attacks resulted in the killing of one IDF soldier (September 21) while another was injured in a combined attack (infiltration and shooting) at the Israeli-Egyptian border by a terrorist cell that had breached the border into Israel from Sinai.
Moreover, four security personnel were injured by firebomb attacks in Jerusalem (September 14, 18).
