Monthly Summary – March 2013
The decline is due to a drop in the number of attacks in the area of Jerusalem: 21 attacks compared to 38 in February.  As for the number of attacks in Judea and Samaria it stayed relatively the same: 101 attacks, compared to 100 in February.

On the other hand, there has been a rise in the number of terror attacks from the Gaza Strip: 3 attacks compared to one in February (no attacks in January). A significant incident was the launching of 14 rockets, in one salvo, towards Israel (March 21) while U.S. president visited the region.


Six Israelis were injured in terror attacks in March: five citizens and one security officer. Five of them were injured by firebombs (a security officer in Judea on March 3, and 4 Israelis on the Trans-Samaria Highway on March 14), and one citizen was shot (March 18) near a gas station in Kedumim (Samaria).

Jerusalem and the Judea and Samaria area: Most attacks executed in March (94 out of 122) were in the form of firebombs (February: 119 out of 138).

The Gaza Strip – 3 attacks: 1 rocket launching; 1 small arms shooting; 1 firebomb.
Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem – 122 attacks: 20 IED; 4 small arms shooting; 3 grenade throwing; 1 object/stone throwing; 94 firebombs (21 in Jerusalem).

Throughout March 2013 14 rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip towards Israel (in one salvo), compared to one rocket in February.
