Weekly Update - October 29, 2008

Casualties in terror attacks
One Israeli citizen was killed and a policeman was seriously wounded as described above.

Major trends
In Judea and Samaria – a decrease in the number of attacks characterized by violent  “popular resistance”: this week, 9 Molotov cocktails were thrown, in contrast to 11 last week.
An opposite trend, however, is demonstrated in the stabbing attack in Jerusalem and the two additional stabbing attempts in the city.
In the Gaza Strip – one incident of disruption of the Lull (explosives). Last week there was also one such incident (rocket firing).
Since the beginning of the Lull (June 19), there have been 48 disruptions, most of the type of high-trajectory weapon fire (rockets/mortars), along with a number of incidents of setting explosives.
