Throughout December one Israeli citizen was killed in a small arms shooting attack in the area of Samaria, and three citizens were injured in three attacks in the West Bank: one woman was injured in a stabbing attack near Gush Etzion, and a man and a woman were injured in two local attacks (Molotov cocktail throwing and casting stone/object).
 

51 attacks were executed in December as opposed to 43 in November.
There is an increase in the number of attacks as opposed to November. This increase is a result of a rise in the number of attacks in the Gaza Strip and Jerusalem.


Data regarding casualties in terrorist attacks
Throughout December one Israeli citizen was killed in a small arms shooting attack near Shavei Shomron (December 24), and three other Israelis were injured (similar to last month) in three different attacks. Below are the details of the attacks:
• December 12 – one Israeli woman was injured in a stabbing attack near Gush Etzion (Judea).
• December 24 – one Israeli was injured as a result of a stone/object cast on him.
• December 27 – one Israeli woman was injured as a result of a Molotov cocktail throwing attack in Judea.


Data regarding terrorist attacks in December

December demonstrates an increase in the number of attacks compared to November: 51 attacks as opposed to 43 in November. The increase is a result of a rise in the number of attacks in the Gaza Strip, mainly small arms shootings near the sim line, and in Jerusalem.

Distribution of attacks according to regions: 28 attacks in the West Bank (similar to last month), 19 attacks in the Gaza Strip (as opposed to 13 in November), and 4 attacks in the Jerusalem area (as opposed to 2 in November).

The West Bank and Jerusalem – most attacks (27 out of 32) were in the form of Molotov cocktail throwing (in November: 25 out of 30).


Monthly distribution of attacks by region and pattern profile:
Following is a distribution of attacks in December according to regions:

The Gaza Strip – 19 attacks (as opposed to 13 last month): 8 rocket launchings, 3 mortar shell launchings, 2 explosive devices, and 6 small arms shootings.

The West Bank and Jerusalem – 32 attacks (as opposed to 30 last month): one small arms shooting, one explosive device, one stabbing, 2 stone/object castings, and 27 Molotov cocktail throwings (4 in Jerusalem).


High-trajectory launchings from the Gaza Strip
Throughout December 9 rockets and 3 mortar shells were launched towards Israel (in 11 attacks) as opposed to 13 rockets and three mortar shell launchings in November (in 11 attacks).
