Data regarding casualties in terrorist attacks
Throughout August 4 Israelis were injured in attacks: 3 citizens and 1 individual from the security forces, as opposed to 0 casualties in June and July.
Below are details of the attacks which resulted in casualties:
• August 12 – a shooting attack close to Ma'ale Levona (Judea area), 2 citizens injured.
• August 14 – a Molotov cocktail throwing attack in the area of Gush Etzion, 1 (severely) injured female citizen.
• August 24 – a mortar shell launching attack from the Gaza Strip towards Zikim, 1 individual from the security forces injured.
Data regarding terrorist attacks in August
This month shows an increase in the number of attacks: 53 attacks as opposed to 48 in July and 38 in June.
Distribution of attacks according to regions: 32 attacks in the West Bank area (as opposed to 23 in July), 19 attacks in the Gaza Strip (as opposed to 23 in July), and 2 attacks in the Jerusalem area (similar to last month).
This month also shows that most attacks in the West Bank and Jerusalem (32 out of 34 attacks) are executed in the form of Molotov cocktail throwing (last month: 24 out of 25).

Following is a distribution of attacks in August according to regions:
The Gaza Strip – 19 attacks (as opposed to 23 last month): 2 rocket launchings, 10 mortar shell launchings, 6 small arms shootings, and 1 explosive device.
The West Bank and Jerusalem – 34 attacks (as opposed to 25 last month): 1 small arms shooting, 1 explosive device, and 32 Molotov cocktail throwings (2 in Jerusalem).
